In case you missed our film night on Monday 20th October, or were so far at the back of the packed out room that you couldn’t take it all in, here are the films we showed.
Kurds (first 3:23 mins)
Turkish Kurds (18:25)
Kurdish Female Fighters (22:43)
The following three short documentaries were made by Argentinian film-maker Alejandro Haddad, who sadly passed away recently. They show beautiful examples of transnational solidarity and it was a pleasure to bring attention to Alejandro’s work.
Somos kurdas Somos jardín de rosas (1:41)
MSF Mesopotamian Social Forum, 2011 (12:02)
Scarves for History (7:13)
The films were followed by short talks by three speakers from the region, about the current situation in the Turkish part of Kurdistan; Kurdish women and the democratic experiment currently taking place in Rojava.
A full report about Rojava, written by our final speaker, can be found ->here<-
